The Hajj

Primary 2/3 have been learning all about Islam this term. We have learned about the Mosque, the Qur'an, the 5 Pillars of Islam and most importantly the Hajj.

The Hajj is a pilgrimage that all Muslims who are well enough and who can afford it make once in their life. They go to Mecca with lots of other Muslims to worship Allah. While they are there they wear white robes and sandals and can't wear products like perfume or make-up. Muslims visit lots of special places such as the Ka'ba, the Zam Zam Well and Mount Arafat.

We really enjoyed learning all about the Hajj, we even imagined we were there and wrote a diary about it!

Harvest Assembly

P3 from our class have been very busy preparing for our Harvest Assembly. The whole school brought donations for the local food bank and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed! As you can see, people were extremely generous!

To start our assembly we did a short play about the journey of a slice of toast from farmer to plate, we really enjoyed it!

Jami Patrick and Adam Burns read a poem all about Harvest, we think they did a great job!

We ended the assembly with a short prayer giving thanks to God for our food followed by having a good boogie to "Harvest Samba"!
