Well summer has certainly arrived! Room 9 have been enjoying the summer weather this week and have taken advantage of it by planting some seeds with Sophie's mum. Everyone loved having her help us and teach us all about planting. We have also been learning about how to look after our environment and took part in a litter pick outside the school which we all enjoyed! We also so have some very exciting news for our followers, we recently recieved a message from a Time Traveller who has been taking us into the past to learn all about the Victorians. We have looked at some of the important things that happened during the Victorian Era and discussed why they were important. Our favourite invention was the inventention of the ice-cream cone in 1851! Keep posted for some pictures as Miss Lochhead has lost her camera charger!

Term 4

Term 4 has been very exciting as we are very pleased to have Mrs Coyle back from Maternity Leave. She is looking forward to getting to know the class even better throughout the remainder of the term and is very impressed by the excellent behaviour and effort by all children. Our topic so far has looking at how Hindu families welcome their babies. Lots of the children have been bringing in photographs and memorabilia from when they were born which has been fantastic to see. Lots of the photos made us smile as some of us haven't changed at all! We discussed our families and had lots of fun creating our own family trees. We also discovered lots of amazing facts about how Hindus welcome their babies and are about to make posters to discuss with the class. Last week was anti-bullying week and Cameron did a wonderful job of leading our circle time. He has been a fantastic rep to our class and has lots of advice for the children about how to deal with bullies. Cameron asked the P2's to make friendship bracelets for a friend and the P3's to make friendship T-shirts. The class had lots of fun making these, even when the pot of beads fell ALL over the floor! :D We had a great time on our sponsored walk to Robertson Park and some of us were able to use lots of wow words as we were walking through the park to describe it. We saw lots of flowers, plants, swans and birds. Keep posted for some pictures and some more information on our topics. Thank you for visiting our blog!
